Thomas Cup 2024 Points Table: Updated Standings after India vs Thailand
Thomas Cup defending champions India started off their 2024 campaign on a good note, defeating Thailand 4-1 in a Group C encounter. A total of 16 teams are participating in the tournament with four groups of four teams each.
Notably, the top two teams from each group will move to the quarter-finals of the Thomas Cup after the single round-robin format in the group stage. India have been pitted alongside Thailand, England, and Indonesia in Group C.

Group A
In Group A, China registered a commanding 5-0 win over Australia to move to the top spot with one point. On the other hand, South Korea moved to second with a resounding 5-0 win over Canada.
In men's singles games, Shi Yuqi, Li Shifend, and Lu Guangzu bagged comprehensive wins for China while in the doubles, Liang Weikeng-Wang Chang and Liu Yuchen-Ou Xuanyi secured wins.
Group C
In Group C, Indonesia and India have taken the top two spots, respectively, with one point each. Indonesia completed a comprehensive 5-0 win over England while India secured a 4-1 win over Thailand.
Prannoy HS suffered a loss against Kunlavut Vitidsarn 20-22, 14-21. However, Lakshya Sen and Srikanth Kidambi bagged crucial wins to help India take the lead. Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty continued their good form alongside Arjun MR-Dhruv Kapila to win the doubles.
Group D
Meanwhile, in Group D, Denmark and Malaysia occupied the top two spots. While Malaysia secured a 5-0 win over Hong Kong, Denmark also registered a 5-0 win over Algeria.
World no.1 player Viktor Axelsen steamrolled Adel Hamek 21-5, 21-6. Meanwhile, Anders Antonsen and Rasmus Gemke also registered big wins. In doubles, Kim Astrup-Anders Skaarup Rasmussen and Rasmus Kjær-Frederik Søgaard secured comprehensive wins.
