What's the story?

Top Indian shuttler P.V. Sindhu revealed her admiration for Indian cricket players Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Virat Kohli. Sindhu, who is taking some time off to rejuvenate, was present in the crowd as Sunrisers Hyderabad took on Kolkata Knight Riders where she answered some questions for the TV presenters.

In case you didn't know...

PV Sindhu is currently ranked 3 in the BWF Women's Singles rankings, which is one more than her career best ranking of 2. Sindhu was also India's flag-bearer at the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.

Heart of the matter

"M.S. Dhoni and Virat Kohli," answered P.V. Sindhu when the presenters asked her which cricketers would she choose to be her doubles partners.

Revealing her admiration for the current and the ex Indian skippers, Sindhu said, "I would choose one of the best from the Indian team to be my doubles partner. I don’t know how all of them play!"

"There’s a lot you can learn from them even being in a different sport. The aggressiveness, the way they play, there’s lots to see from Dhoni and Kohli,” she added.

Sindhu also commented on Surisers Hyderbad's progress in this season's IPL, a team of which she is a fan, “SRH are doing really well. When I’m in Hyderabad and have no matches, I do follow their matches."

What next?

Sindhu has opted to skip Uber Cup this year in order to rejuvenate and prepare for upcoming tournaments. The biggest tournament up next in the BWF calendar is the Malaysian Open where Sindhu will once again fight for the trophy and in addition, the coveted no. 1 spot in the rankings.

Author's take

Sindhu, like Kidambi Srikanth, revealed admiration for two of India's best sportsmen. While Srikanth remarked Dhoni's calmness as his favourite attribute, Sindhu went in the opposite way. She remarked Dhoni's and Kohli's aggressiveness as a key attribute and for people to learn from the same.
