7 Yankees who are now free agents ft. Juan Soto, Alex Verdugo
The New York Yankees could look quite different next season. They have a handful of free agents who may not be back rocking the pinstripes for the 2025 season.
The front office will certainly be busy trying to decide which of these seven players they want to return, and the ones they do not. These will be big decisions that could shake up how the Bronx Bombers' chances for a World Series title.
7 Yankees who are free agents ft. Juan Soto, Alex Verdugo
1) Juan Soto
Juan Soto is the biggest name on this list. He was with the Yankees on a one-year deal and was excellent. He took the pressure off Aaron Judge to be the only source of power in the Bronx Bombers' lineup.
However, signing him could be difficult. Soto knows just how good he is and he will be chasing a bag over the winter. Being a Scott Boras client does not help matters, and baseball fans could see a bidding war for his services.
2) Alex Verdugo
Alex Verdugo is another big name on this list. He was also a big help to the club this year. Even with his fits at the plate, he still provided a good glove in the outfield, something that has been a problem in past years.
3) Gleyber Torres
Many were expecting the Yankees to trade Gleyber Torres at some point, but that never came to be. He did not have the best year, and that could hurt him this winter, but he will still be somebody teams will be interested in.
4) Clay Holmes
Clay Holmes is another player the Bronx Bombers could lose over the winter. He proved himself this year to be a dependable arm, especially in the postseason, and teams are always searching for more arms.
5) Tommy Kahnle
Tommy Kahnle did not end his season all too well but was great during the regular season. He will be a guy that teams will be interested in acquiring as he would not cost too much and could be a steal in some team's eyes.
6) Jonathan Loáisiga
Jonathan Loáisiga is coming off an injured season. However, he has proved to be a dependable arm in this league over the last few years and a team could take a chance on him and his recovery.
7) Tim Hill
Tim Hill is the last Yankees player on the list. The veteran arm is getting up there in age, but still has what it takes to be on a big-league mound. He may not be the hottest free agent, but he should still get his looks.
