8 Orioles who are now free agents ft. Corbin Burnes, Anthony Santander
The Baltimore Orioles could be losing some key pieces this winter. They have several players who are now free agents and will certainly be getting calls from multiple teams over the next few months.
One of these free agents is regarded as one of the best at his position while another is coming off a career year. While Baltimore can re-sign any of these players, it will be tough.
So, we take a look at the eight free-agent players that could be on the move relatively soon.
8 Baltimore Orioles who are now free agents
1) Corbin Burnes
Corbin Burnes is the headline piece on this list, and for good reason. He is regarded as the top starting pitcher in this free-agent class and is looking to secure a bag this offseason.
It has been reported that Burnes is searching for a contract near $200 million. It will be interesting to see how badly Baltimore wants their ace back or if they back out of the fight early.
2) Anthony Santander
Anthony Santander is another name on this list that teams will likely fight over. He is now a free agent for the first time in his career while coming off a season where he made his first All-Star Game appearance.
Santander is already drawing interest from multiple teams. MLB Network's Jon Morosi linked the slugger to the Washington Nationals while the Philadelphia Phillies has also been a name thrown around.
3) Eloy Jimenez
Eloy Jimenez landed in Baltimore after he was traded from the Chicago White Sox for MiLB pitcher Trey McGough. They took a chance on a player who lost his flare in Chicago, but he did not stick.
4) James McCann
James McCann joins a small list of free-agent catchers. With not many options available, there is thought that McCann will re-sign with the Orioles, but if he is handed a multi-year deal with a contender, he will likely be on his way.
5) Austin Slater
Austin Slater did not have his greatest season in 2024. However, with his ability to hit left-handed pitching and ability to play all three outfield spots, he is still valuable. Early rumors suggest the Los Angeles Angels could target him.
6) John Means
John Means is an interesting name on this list. He underwent Tommy John surgery in the middle of the season and is not expected back until late 2025 or possibly the 2026 season. Unless another team inquires, expect him to return to Baltimore
7) Danny Coulombe
The Orioles declined Danny Coulombe's option, making him a free agent. This is a bit of a surprising move as Coulombe has had a decent two-year stretch in Baltimore.
8) Brooks Kriske
Brooks Kriske was picked up by the Orioles after being DFA'd by the Cincinnati Reds in August. However, he was not used in the short time he was claimed, and will likely look for a new opportunity in the winter.
