Adam Duvall Landing Spots: 3 possible destinations for All-Star slugger after tough season with Braves

It was a year to forget for former All-Star outfielder Adam Duvall. The 36-year-old from Louisville, Kentucky, struggled to get much or anything rolling at the plate last season with the Atlanta Braves.

Despite playing in 104 games, Duvall looked like a shell of himself, posting a .182 batting average with 11 home runs, 30 RBIs and 99 strikeouts.

That being said, Adam Duvall has been a major power source throughout his MLB career, clobbering 195 home runs up to this point. There is a chance that teams will overlook his disappointing 2024 campaign, especially considering the fact that, the year before, he hit 21 homers for the Boston Red Sox.

With a number of clubs looking to add to their overall home run power, it should bode well for Duvall. Now, he may need to settle on a one-year deal at this point of his career. However, teams will certainly be willing to make a low-risk, high-reward gamble on the former All-Star.

A look at 3 potential landing spots for Adam Duvall in free agency

#1 Detroit Tigers

The Detroit Tigers shocked the MLB by making a tremendous late-season push to reach the playoffs. Despite not only making the postseason but also advancing to the AL Divisional Series, their offensive lineup left much to be desired.

Enter Adam Duvall, who could not only bring some veteran leadership and championship experience to the young clubhouse but also provide some pop at the plate.

Last season, the Detroit Tigers finished 24th in the MLB in team home runs, so bringing in a proven masher like Duvall could help improve those numbers. The fact that he will likely come at an affordable contract also makes him an attractive depth player to add in free agency.

#2 Pittsburgh Pirates

The Pittsburgh Pirates find themselves in an interesting spot heading into the offseason. Despite being in a rebuilding phase for the past few seasons, the emergence of Paul Skenes might force the front office to get more aggressive in building a contending roster around him.

The Pirates have a number of veterans hitting unrestricted free agency, such as Connor Joe and Yasmani Grandal, which could open the door for Duvall.

If he can bounce back to his previous form, Duvall could play a significant role in the Pirates' lineup in 2025. That being said, if the Pirates were to struggle, Duvall could be a prime trade candidate later in the year.

#3 Miami Marlins

Another club that could use a proven slugger like Adam Duvall is the Miami Marlins. The club has been linked to a few veterans this offseason already, including Alex Verdugo.

Bringing in Duvall as even a part-time player could be a major win for the Marlins. Like some of the teams mentioned above, the Marlins struggled to put up runs last year, making Duvall an interesting low-risk option.
