"Bryce Harper is the most selfless guy" - When Phillies star's wife Kayla revealed how she got 'attracted' to him
Bryce Harper and his wife Kayla's relationship began over a decade ago. Still madly in love with one another, the Phillies star has credited his wife for being his biggest source of support. Earlier this year, Kayla also revealed what makes her connection to Bryce special.
The pair married in late 2016, and in the wake of the nuptials, Kayla told The Knot about why she loves her husband so much:
“He’s selfless, the most selfless guy ever. I think that’s what always attracted me to him. And he’s goofy and funny—he loves to play pranks on me, and as much as I get annoyed by it, I secretly love it—he’s just the best. I love him.”
Both members of the Mormon Church, Bryce and Kayla Harper, put their faith at the center of their lives. In addition to abstaining from drugs and alcohol, their family-centered approach has created a nurturing environment for their three children.
Bryce Harper made his MLB debut in 2012 for the Washington Nationals. As a freshman, the Nevada-born Harper hit .270/.340/.477 with 22 home runs and 59 RBIs. It did not take long for fans, pundits and observers around the league to start seeing him as a generational talent.
Ahead of the 2019 season, the Harper family departed DC on account of Bryce's massive thirteen-year, $330 million deal with the Philadelphia Phillies. Having garnered three Silver Sluggers as well as an NL MVP nod since his move to Philly, Bryce Harper is now dead-set on bringing a World Series title to the City of Brotherly Love.
Bryce Harper's mission for the World Series
The Phillies' elimination at the hands of the New York Mets in the NLDS was the team's third elimination in three seasons in the Divisional Series or later. Despite the adversity, Harper believes in his team and himself, as he suggested earlier this month:
"This is going to be a crazy answer, but I think my prime is for the next 10 years, you know what I’m saying? I don’t think I’m faltering in any way." [h/t MLB.com]
A generational star, if anyone will help deliver the team's first title since 2008, it is Bryce Harper.
