Fernando Tatis Jr.'s mom Maria takes note of Kanye West's controversial claims of anti-Jesus agenda in music industry
Fernando Tatis Jr. has put the San Diego Padres on his back this postseason. However, while the 25 year-old's family is undoubtedly thrilled at the success he is enjoying, there appear to also be some other items on the agenda for some of his family members.
A devout Christian, Tatis' mother Maria recently took to Instagram to decry what she feels are some anti-Christian messages coming from the music industry. Maria posted in her native Spanish, appearing to support singer Kanye West's claims about anti-Christian biases in the industry.
Maria's post translated to ""Kanye West's powerful message about the music industry: “You can't name Jesus.” What do you think?"" Maria Tatis' opinion appears to back up Kanye West's challenged claim that many singers are prohibited from their record labels from saying the name "Jesus."
Kanye West has been implicated in more than his fair share of controversy. In addition to making some very controversial remarks about religion in music, West, who renamed himself "Ye", was seen making positive comments towards Adolf Hitler in late 2022.
Maria's pro-Christian stance is backed up by her bio on Instagram, which reads:
Proverbs 4:23-25: Above all things guarded, guard your heart; Because life flows from it. Remove from you the perversity of the mouth."
A native of San Pedro de Macoris in the Dominican Republic, Maria has been married to Fernando Tatis Sr. since the 1990s. Tatis Sr. was a utility man who played 11 years in MLB, most notably for the New York Mets and St. Louis Cardinals.

Fernando Tatis Jr. continues his tear for the Padres
Maria's social media often features her son, who she is obviously immensely proud of. In 22 at-bats for the San Diego Padres this postseason, Fernando Tatis Jr. has hit .500 with 4 home runs and 7 RBIs. As his teammate Xander Boagerts told MLB.com after Game 3:
""Obviously, Fernando is kind of putting it on his back right now. That’s something special to witness, to see."
Even though Ohtani's Dodgers won Game 4 by a convincing margin to stay alive, many still have Tatis' Padres emerging victorious. The slugger's opinion on anti-Christian tendencies in the music industry is unknown, but we can certainly be sure that Maria's Instagram will likely return to showing off her son again before long.
