For Maria Laborde, wife of Braves star Ronald Acuna Jr., life can be hectic. However, despite navigating the busy schedule of a young mother and full-time wife, the 24-year-old still finds time to fit in her workouts.
In a recent series of images posted to her personal Instagram account, Maria showed off her strength by pressing 360 lbs on her legs. Following the exercise, Maria indulged in a smoothie as they prepared to head home.
Although Maria and Ronald Acuna Jr. both now live in Marietta, Georgia by virtue of his role with the Atlanta Braves, both are originally from northern Venezuela. Maria was an avid modeller and beauty queen as a youth, and won Miss Teen in her home state of Carabobo before advancing to compete in pageantry on the national level.
Now the mother to two sons - Ronald III and Jamal - Maria certainly has her hands full. An avid social media influencer with over 120,000 followers, Maria's modelling work has also brought her into contact with global brands like Forever21, Zara, and H&M.
""If they said anybody would do it, I knew it would be Ronnie. It's kinda crazy he got married and became the first player in history to do that in the same day." @MoneyyyMike reacts to @ronaldacunajr24's 30-60+ season" - Braves on FanDuel Sports Network
Maria and Ronald met in 2019, and got married on Sept. 1, 2023. Later that same day, Ronald Acuna Jr. hit a grand slam against the Los Angeles Dodgers, which also counted for his 30th home run that season.
Ronald Acuna Jr. will recover among loved ones this offseason
On the heels of the 2023 season that saw him capture the NL MVP Award, Acuna Jr's 2024 season came to an end in May after he tore his ACL in a game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. While recovery will be atop the agenda for the Venezuelan star, so too will be passing time with his family, about whom Acuna one told the Atlanta Journal Constitution:
“I think it just gives me a sense of joy as well. Regardless of how bad of a day it was, to be able to just go there and enjoy that time with your sons is just something really special"
With a lot of physical training in store this offseason, at least Maria is doing her part to keep pace.
