When Marcus Stroman opted out of his contract with the Chicago Cubs last year, many wondered if the Gold Glove pitcher had made a mistake. However, the flashy starter was quickly scooped up by a team that appears to be a perfect match for him.
Since inking his two-year, $37 million deal with the New York Yankees, the Bronx has felt like home for Marcus Stroman. In addition to his strong pitching this season, Stroman's penchant for style, urbanity and intensity has made him a favorite among fans of the pinstripes.
In a recent flurry of images shared to his personal Instagram stories, Stroman showed off a flashy piece of wristwear. The pitcher treated his followers to images of himself wearing a Nautilus Patek Philippe, known to have a retail value of over $230,000, according to the watchmaker's website.
Ostensibly, the pictures were taken in Florida, before the Yankees' midweek series against the Tampa Bay Rays. In addition to snapping some up-close pictures of his watch, Stroman included some lovely snaps of the clouds over the open waters.
The pictures also focus on Stroman's trademark tattoos. The Medford, New York, native is known for his body art, which includes everything from reassuring adages to honorary art dedicated to some of his former teams, such as the Toronto Blue Jays.

In 18 starts for the New York Yankees this season, Stroman is 7-4 with a 3.58 ERA in 100.2 innings on the bump. He is expected to get the ball for Wednesday's game between the Yankees and Rays at Tropicana Field.

In addition to solid pitching, Stroman's intensity on the field has won a special place in Yankees fans' hearts. However, the pitcher can sometimes take that passion too far. In the June 28 game against Toronto, Stroman became visibly upset when his fielders failed to turn a double play. After the incident, the ace told Yahoo Sports:
"I’m very passionate. I care about winning for this team and this city. And sometimes my raw emotion comes out. Like I said, it’s all directed toward winning and being great out there. Sometimes it’s frustrating."
One of the flashiest players in MLB for sure, watch out for Stroman to continue to battle it out every day on the field.
