Julio Urias domestic battery charge: Complete timeline of ex-Dodgers pitcher's controversy, from arrest to witness video release
There is a realistic chance that we have already seen Julio Urias' final pitch in an MLB uniform. The former Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher and 2020 World Series champion has not pitched in the majors since 2023 after being arrested for felony domestic violence stemming from an incident that occurred at an LAFC soccer game.
The current unrestricted free agent finds himself in hot water yet again after a video of the domestic violence incident went viral on social media. The video shows Julio Urias chasing down a woman, pinning her to a makeshift fence while being held back by several individuals. Urias also struck at the woman.

Although the incident that took place outside of the LAFC game may have been the one that derailed his career, it was not the first time that such an incident occurred with the former Dodgers star. In fact, Urias was arrested as part of a domestic battery case back in 2019 which resulted in the pitcher receiving a 20-game suspension from the league.
September 2023
On September 3, 2023, the former Dodgers pitcher was arrested for felony domestic violence. Although he was later released on $50,000 bail, he was placed on administrative leave by the MLB on Sept. 6, where he remained until the expiration of his contract.
January 9, 2024
Earlier this year, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office announced that they would no longer be pursuing felony charges linked to the domestic violence situation outside of the MLS game. The case against Julio Urias was moved to the City Attorney's Office as misdemeanor charges were still an option.
April 9, 2024
On April 9, Urias was charged with five misdemeanors tied to the incident. The charges against him included spousal battery, two counts of domestic battery involving a dating relationship, false imprisonment, and assault.
May 1, 2024
Urias pleaded no-contest to the misdemeanor domestic battery charge. As a result, the former Los Angeles Dodgers star received three years of probation, was required to complete a domestic violence course, and was also tasked with 30 days of community service. Although he avoided jail time, it appears that his time in the MLB may have come to an end.
September 19, 2024
A video of the domestic violence incident made its way across social media, re-igniting the discussion about both Julio Urias and his future in professional baseball. If he had not yet received a contract offer to this point, upon seeing the video, it seems unlikely that he will find himself in an MLB uniform any time soon.
