In response to players being sidelined, teams have claimed players off of the waiver wire, promoting prospects from the minors, or during the trade market.

MLB Injury Updates for June 25

#1. Chris Paddack

The Minnesota Twins placed veteran pitcher Chris Paddack on the 15-day IL with right arm fatigue. The injury update is a devastating one for Paddack, who has been looking to re-establish himself as an MLB starter. In 2022 and 2023, he pitched a combined 27.1 innings.

#2. Starling Marte

The New York Mets will be without All-Star outfielder Starling Marte for the foreseeable future. The club placed Marte on the 10-day IL with a right knee bone bruise. His absence is a blow to the Mets, as the club has been on a hot streak lately. In a corresponding move, the Mets have selected the contract of Ben Gamel.

#4. Justin Verlander

Houston Astros manager Joe Espada provided a concerning injury update regarding future Hall of Famer Justin Verlander. Espada said that Verlander is progressing slower than the team had hoped and he has yet to resume throwing. The Astros manager said that the injury is linked to his ongoing neck soreness.

#5. Jackson Holliday
