MLB Trade Deadline: 3 Diamondbacks players likely to be traded by July 30
The Arizona Diamondbacks are in a precarious situation. They're currently .500, which likely prevents them from winning the division, but it does not preclude them from a Wild Card spot down the road. They're the defending NL champions, but they haven't really looked like it so far.
That puts them in a difficult spot. If they were a few games better, they'd likely add at the deadline to bring in talent to make a run for another pennant. If they were a few games worse, they'd likely pull the plug and sell assets. They might end up doing both. Either way, here are some players that might be on new teams after the deadline.

3. Ivan Melendez
Ivan Melendez is the Diamondbacks' eighth overall prospect. If they decide to go for it with a trade or two to boost their Wild Card chances, they will not make a blockbuster deal.
They can't fix things with a few superstars, so a smaller deal to shore up weak spots makes more sense. That is why they won't trade any of their top prospects. However, Melendez is expected to be at the MLB level next year, giving him value to teams interested in making a deal with Arizona.
2. Eugenio Suarez
Eugenio Suarez has not been the answer at third base for the Diamondbacks. He's been worth 0.6 fWAR so far, and it would not be a surprise if the D'Backs moved on. They traded for him in the offseason, thinking he was a missing piece, but it hasn't worked out very well.
Teams like the New York Yankees, who need depth or starters at third base, might be highly interested in Suarez if he was made available.
1. Jordan Montgomery
The season Jordan Montgomery has had has been disastrous. With that said, he's a pitcher with valuable postseason experience on a mediocre team with an expiring contract. That almost guarantees that he'll be traded.
It won't be for much, but every team needs pitching and he just won the World Series. It would be a surprise if he wasn't moved at the deadline. Maybe a change of scenery would benefit him.
