NCAA baseball super regional locations 2024 ft. Knoxville, Lexington and more
As the NCAA Tournament reaches the super regional stage, matchups to determine who goes to Omaha are set. The super regional series is a best-of-three follow-up to regional play. It pits the winners of two regional finals against each other for the right to appear in the College World Series.
Top eight seeds were the talk of college baseball a week ago, as those seeds allow a team to host a super regional if it wins its regional matchups. In the end, seven of the top eight seeds did avail themselves of those opportunities. Only No. 5 Arkansas failed to win its regional round and opened the field up for a super regional host outside the top eight seeds in No. 12 Virginia.

#1. Evansville at No. 1 overall seed Tennessee
This matchup might be the biggest surprise of the Tournament. Not Tennessee, who was expected to advance and did so easily. Rather Evansville, who bested No. 1 region seed East Carolina twice to win. Wake Forest, led by former Tennessee ace Chase Burns, went 0-2 and also got eliminated.
#2. Oregon State at No. 2 overall seed Kentucky
Kentucky held serve, sweeping through the Lexington region. In return, they earned the right to face No. 15 overall seed Oregon State. Oregon State won three in a row in their region, taking down No. 2 seed UC-Irvine twice in a row to advance to super regional play.
#3. Oregon at No. 3 overall seed Texas A&M
The Aggies rolled through their region, needing extra innings to best Texas, but winning their three games by a combined 15 runs. Meanwhile, No. 3 regional seed Oregon won their games by one, one and three runs, respectively. Top regional seed UC-Santa Barbara scored just one run in two games with the Ducks.
#4. West Virginia at No. 4 overall seed North Carolina
North Carolina held off a feisty LSU team in 10 innings on Monday to advance from its region. No. 3 seed West Virginia went 3-0 in their region as top regional seed Arizona went 0-2, losing by a combined 16-4 margin. Carolina and LSU delivered a regional final that would have been worthy of a super regional battle.
#5. Florida at No. 6 overall seed Clemson
Clemson swept through its region in three games, although the first two were 4-3 wins. Meanwhile, Florida was one of the last teams in the NCAA field, and their mediocre regular season record was criticized heavily. But the regional No. 3 Gators beat top seed Oklahoma State in two of three games, winning Monday's 4-2 final to advance.
#6. NC State at No. 7 overall seed Georgia
These were a pair of "no doubt" regionals. Georgia swept through its batch in three games, althought games one and three were won by a single run and two runs, respectively. Top seed NC State (No. 10 overall) also went 3-0, winning the last two games by two runs each. Sounds like this stacks up as a very competitive super regional showdown.
#7. UConn at No. 8 overall seed Florida State
Florida State waltzed through its field in three games, winning by five, three and eight runs, respectively, in three games. UConn was a No. 3 seed, but they won two of three from regional top seed Oklahoma. The final game was a 7-1 win that moved UConn to its second super regional in three years.
#8 Kansas State at No. 12 overall seed Virginia
No. 3 regional seed Kansas State won its first game by 15 runs, then squeaked past regional top seed Arkansas 7-6 and then beat SEMO 7-2 in the final. Their reward is a solid Virginia team that won its three games by two, one and seven runs, respectively, in the finale with Mississippi State.
