Shohei Ohtani pinned down his ambitious goals long before he became the recipient of a 10-year, $700 contract, a World Series title and a two-time MVP when he was a high school teenager.
He's 30 now and has checked off many of his goals, which he had written down as journalist Trung Phan shared on social media.
As per his goals, Shohei Ohtani had planned to get married and win his first World Series at the age of 26. He realized both four years later than planned, winning his first World Series title - beating the New York Yankees 4-1 - and getting married to former basketball player Mamiko Tanaka at 30.

Age 18: Join a MLB team
Shohei Ohtani joined the MLB's Los Angeles Angels in 2018 and made his debut the same year, winning the AL Rookie of the Year.
Age 19: Master English and reach AAA
Though he hasn't completely mastered English, as mentioned by some of his teammates, Ohtani has a better grasp of it.
Age 20: Called up to the majors, make 1.5 billion JPY (~13 million USD)
Shohei Ohtani's first major league contract was a one-year, $2,315,000 deal with the Los Angeles Angels as a signing bonus. However, it wasn't until 2023 arbitration that his value was truly organized, with the Angels handing him a $30 million annual contract.
Age 22: Win the Cy Young award
While Shohei Ohtani has won two AL MVPs, he's yet to win a Cy Young.

Last year, Shohei Ohtani won the WBC championship in Miami with Japan.
