Aaron Judge credits wife Samantha for unwavering support in 'every step of the way' following Yankees' AL East Championship win
Aaron Judge's wife, Samantha Bracksieck, was in attendance at Yankee Stadium to witness the New York Yankees clinch the AL East division over the Baltimore Orioles. While it may have taken a bit longer to get there, the Yankees captain has steered the ship this season with a spectacular year, and a glimpse of it came in Thursday's dominating 10-1 win.
Judge, who leads MLB in home runs, smashed his 58th home run of the season for the win. He contributed two RBIs for the Yankees and coupled with a spectacular night of Gerrit Cole and Giancarlo Stanton, the Yankees will head to the playoffs, retaining home-field advantage.
After the win, Aaron Judge posted celebratory snaps and among them included him posing alongside his wife Samantha, who was in a simple Yankees blue shirt over skin-toned pants. The slugger credited his wife for being there "every step of the way."
Aaron Judge gets humble after winning AL East division
Throughout this season, it was a close battle between the Orioles and the Yankees for the lead of the AL East. Finally, the Yankees came out on top while still losing the series to the Orioles.
It's party time for Aaron Judge, who said he'll take a day off to celebrate the win. After the game, the Yankees captain sounded humble while taking pride in his teammates' hard work.
"It's everything, you know. But it's just the start," he said. "We've got a special group here that's put a lot of hard work in all the way from the offseason. To come to this point and be able to win this division, the toughest division in baseball, I'm just proud of this group that we have. It's a special group."
The opportunity for the Yankees to win it all since 2009 can't get any better. They have a deadly hitting combo of Juan Soto and Aaron Judge, which may not extend past this season. They have Gerrit Cole getting into the act right time of the year. And of course, they have other players to get into the spotlight.
So if there was a time when the Yankees should win it all; it's this season.
