Aaron Judge opens up about watching Yankees win World Series as a child ahead of Dodgers blockbuster

After a hard-fought postseason, the World Series is set, and fans will be treated to an epic matchup between Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani. Arguably the two most talented players in the MLB, as well as the favorites to win their league's respective MVP, will now square off for the first World Series title of their careers when the New York Yankees play the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 1 on Friday.

For Judge, not only does he have a chance to build upon his potential Hall of Fame resume, but he also has a chance to live out something he saw as a child. The Yankees captain explained how he watched the club continually win World Series titles when he was growing up, and that is something that he hopes to emulate.

"For years, as a kid watching the Yankees win the World Series, that excitement, that emotion, the way the city comes alive, it's definitely special. And I'm looking forward to doing that with this group," Judge said of the opportunity to win it all with New York.

Aaron Judge, like many baseball superstars, watched the game as a young boy and is now living out that dream. If the Yankees can pull off the victory against the Dodgers, the hulking outfielder will have helped the club win the World Series for the first time since 2009.

"The journey is always a tough one, but I think that's the fun in all of this. Enjoying those good times, bad times, learning from them, and trying to improve from them so you can get to this point. This is where the real fun starts," Judge said of the long road to the World Series.

Yankees reach World Series despite quiet postseason from Aaron Judge

Aaron Judge appears to have locked up the second American League MVP Award, thanks to his incredible regular season performance, which saw him post a .322 batting average with 58 home runs, 144 RBIS and a 1.159 OPS. Despite this tremendous season, Judge has been relatively quiet throughout the playoffs.

Even though the New York Yankees sit only four victories away from a World Series title, Judge has struggled to produce much for his club in the postseason. Although Judge has been turning things around lately, he currently owns a lowly .161 batting average with a pair of home runs.

That being said, other stars have excelled for the Yankees throughout the playoffs, including Giancarlo Stanton and Juan Soto. If Aaron Judge can rediscover his form at the plate, he could be a game-changer for the Yankees in the World Series.
