Alex Bregman responds to Juan Soto joining elite group of home run hitters before turning 26

Coming up clutch in the postseason is huge, and that's something both Juan Soto and Alex Bregman excel at. Soto's 10th-inning three-run homer against the Cleveland Guardians' Hunter Gaddis not only secured the Yankees a place in the World Series but also placed him in the top five of young home run hitters.

On Sunday, Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman reshared a post from MLB where Soto, with 10 home runs, joined a group that includes Carlos Correa (11 home runs), Randy Arozarena (10), Alex Bregman (10) and Albert Pujols (10) for most postseason home runs before turning 26.

Saturday's home run marked Soto's 10th postseason bomb, and with his 26th birthday coming up on Oct. 25, he's just days away from aging out of that list.

Depending on how long the NLCS between the LA Dodgers and New York Mets lasts, Soto might get one or two World Series games to tie or surpass Correa for the most home runs.

Juan Soto is no stranger to winning in October. He already achieved it with the 2019 Washington Nationals, and he hopes to do it again with the New York Yankees this season.

After the Yankees' 5-2 victory over the Guardians, Soto reflected on his mindset in the 10th inning when he faced Hunter Gaddis at the plate.

“I mean, I was all over him [Hunter Gaddis]. I was all over him, that was the only thing I was thinking. I was just saying to myself, "You're all over that guy. You're all over that guy. He ain't got anything."And just try to make good contact, and I did,” Soto said.

Juan Soto was traded to the Yankees by the San Diego Padres. The trade worked out well for both teams, but it's clear the Yankees have benefited the most, as Soto's performance has them eyeing a 28th World Series title, potentially ending their drought since 2009.

The Yankees are hoping to keep Soto beyond this season, but right now, the focus is on the Fall Classic against the Los Angeles Dodgers, who just defeated the New York Mets to clinch the NLCS.
