Alex Rodriguez shares iconic snap with sports royalty Magic Johnson, Billie Jean King & Stephen A. Smith

Former New York Yankees shortstop Alex Rodriguez is considered by many as one of the best baseball players of all time. Drafted as the first overall pick in the 1993 MLB Draft by the Seattle Mariners, Rodriguez went on to play 22 seasons in the big leagues, with a majority of those in the iconic Yankees' Pinstripes.

On Friday, Rodriguez posted a photo on his Instagram story, featuring him alongside sporting royalty such as Magic Johnson, Billie Jean King and Stephen A. Smith. Also featuring in the picture were businessman Mark Walter and sportscaster Harold Reynolds.

The New York City native had a hugely succesful career, earning 14 All-Star caps, three AL MVP awards, two Gold Glove awards, 10 Silver Slugger awards and a World Series title, among other honors.

Naturally, being one of the biggest names in baseball, Rodriguez boasts a huge following on social media. The former Yankees man has over 4.3 million followers on Instagram, and often posts content about his day to day life, business ventures and other stuff for fans.

After retiring from professional baseball in 2016, Alex Rodriguez transitioned to becoming a media personality and businessman. Along with that, he is still heavily involved in the sport he loves, now in the role of an analyst.

The 49-year-old is seen alongside fellow legends of the game Derek Jeter and David Ortiz in the popular show 'MLB on Fox'.

The stories of the Mets and Lindor's 2024 season are somewhat similar. Early in the season, both Lindor and his team were struggling, but eventually, things began to take a turn for the better. They gathered momentum and finished the regular season strong.

Now, the Mets find themselves competing in the NLCS for the first time since 2015. In a see-saw battle with the Dodgers so far, the Mets currently trail 3-2, with games six and seven set to be played in LA.

With the sixth game of the series scheduled for Sunday, Mets fans will be hoping that Francisco Lindor and Co. can repeat the trick from two days ago to force game seven.
