"All hail the king" "Christmas in early Septemeber" - Astros fans ecstatic after team announces they have reinstated Kyle Tucker from the 60-day IL
It has been a while since Houston Astros slugger Kyle Tucker landed on the IL. He fouled a ball off his shin on June 3 and was initially ruled day-to-day before moving to the 60-day IL.
It was recently reported that Tucker had fractured his shin. He has worked tirelessly to get back into the lineup, and the club announced on Friday that they had reinstated him from the IL.
This is huge for the club as Tucker had been stellar before going down with his injury. In 60 games, he hit .266/.395/.584 with 11 doubles, 19 home runs, and 40 runs batted in.
Fans could not be more excited to have Tucker back in the lineup. This is the perfect time as there are just a few weeks left in the regular season, and Houston is in a prime position to grab a postseason spot.
"All Hail the King," one fan posted.
"Holy s**t. Christmas in early September. Now I just need Nvidia to skyrocket," posted another.
"Let's go!," said one fan.
Tucker should give this Astros lineup another offensive boost as they gear up toward the postseason. They currently sit atop the American League West with their 75-65 record.
"World Series here we come," posted another.
"My prayers have been answered," wrote one fan.
"The light of my life has returned," said another.
Tucker will return to the lineup for Friday's matchup against the Arizona Diamondbacks. He is penciled in to hit in the four-spot as the team's designated hitter.
Astros may look to ease Kyle Tucker back into playing shape
Kyle Tucker has been away from the game for a few months. During the time he was trying to get healthy enough to return to the lineup, he did not undergo a rehab assignment.
This could be a big reason he is being used as the team's DH on Friday. It may take some time before fans see him back roaming the outfield again.
Luckily, they have an outfield group that can handle their own until Tucker feels 100%. Yordan Alvarez, Jake Meyers, Ben Gamel, Chas McCormick, and Jason Heyward have done so for months.
While they started the season on the wrong foot, Houston is getting healthy and starting to put the pieces together at the best time.
