"Anthony Rizzo makes 100s of mound visits" - Michael Kopech claims Yankees pitchers were annoyed with first baseman during World Series versus Dodgers

Los Angeles Dodgers reliever Michael Kopech claimed that New York Yankees pitchers were annoyed by first baseman Anthony Rizzo's multiple visits to the mound during the World Series.

Kopech was traded to the Dodgers in July as a part of a three-team trade and went on to win the World Series. On the Baseball Isn't Boring podcast, he explained how mound visits can be useful but annoying if not done properly:

"Usually when a position player comes up to me on the mound, I'm like what are we gonna be talking about here. Anthony Rizzo made hundreds of mound visits during the World Series games. And you could almost see it in the pitcher's faces. It's like, what could they be talking about.

"We had a running joke in the bullpen of Rizzo visits remaining. Because it's like, everytime there was a visit, it was always Rizzo."

Michael Kopech, selected by the Boston Red Sox in the 2014 MLB Draft, played three seasons in the minors before getting traded to the Chicago White Sox.

He went on to make his major league debut with them in 2018 before being sidelined for three years due to injuries and the COVID-19 pandemic. Kopech was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers in July.

Michael Kopech set to host Christmas fundraiser in Mount Pleasant for local charities

Hailing from Mount Pleasant, Texas, reigning World Series champion Michael Kopech will be present in the Mount Pleasant auditorium on Tuesday, taking pictures and signing autographs for $5 each. All proceeds will go to local charities for underprivileged children.

A graduate of Mount Pleasant High School, the Los Angeles Dodgers star will be raising funds for charities ahead of Christmas.
