The series opener between the Yankees and Blue Jays was an exciting one, as Toronto came right out of the blocks with all guns blazing. They targeted Carlos Rodon from the onset of the game, as he ended up giving up eight earned runs on ten hits and striking out eight batters in five innings to register a loss.
Blue Jays ace sluggers George Springer and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. did all the damage from the bat as the Bombers hitting lineup couldn't fire up their engines against Jose Berrios on Thursday night. Trent Grisham scored the sole two runs for the Yankees off a two-run home run as the Bombers lost game 1, 9-2.
Yankees decimated the Blue Jays in game 2 of the four-game series on Friday night
The fiery hitting lineup of the Yankees wasn't going to sit quiet for long, and the same came true in game 2 against the Blue Jays at Rogers Center on Friday night. The Bronx Bombers defeated the Jays 16-5, as both Juan Soto and Gleyber drove in three runs each while also crushing a home run each, and captain Aaron Judge aided the offense with two RBIs.
Five other hitters from their lineup drove in a run each as the bullpen did its work after a lax start by Marcus Stroman to win the game for the NY Yankees and tie the series at 1-1. The third game of the series will be played on Saturday night at Rogers Center in Toronto.
