"Blake Snell likes talking sh*t to kids he beats" - Logan Webb reveals Giants teammate chose 2K gaming over celebrating his no-hitter vs. Reds

San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Logan Webb gave some personal insight into teammate Blake Snell. Specifically, he shared how Snell preferred to spend the evening after a great performance last month.

Apparently, Snell was busy playing video games instead of celebrating his no-hitter in the Giants' 3-0 win over the Cincinnati Reds in August.

On Wednesday's edition of the Chris Rose Rotation, Webb talked about how Snell spent the evening playing video games to unwind after a perfect day on the mound.

"We hung out at the hotel. I think we had a day game the next day. I think one of us had kind of like a suite to hang out in, and we hung out. Blake didn't even hang out. I think he was playing 2K or something.
"That's Blake, he beats to his own drum. He likes getting on there and talking sh*t to the kids that he beats in 2K and MLB: The Show."

Recording a no-hitter is the ultimate test of quality and endurance for pitchers. There have only been three 'complete' no-hitters recorded in the 2024 MLB season so far: Ronel Blanco (Houston Astros), Dylan Cease (San Diego Padres), and the aforementioned Blake Snell.

Blake Snell strikes out 8 as Giants rout the Brewers

The San Francisco Giants beat the Milwaukee Brewers 13-2 at Oracle Park on Wednesday, getting back on level terms in the three-game series. The hosts took control of the game early, scoring four runs in each of the first two innings.

Three separate players hit home runs for the Giants on the day, with Mike Yastrzemski, Matt Chapman, and Jerar Encarnacion all hitting a dinger each. On the other side, a Brewers offense that has been in good touch recently had a game to forget.

Starting pitcher Blake Snell added to his strong second half of the 2024 season as he recorded another fine performance on the mound. The 31-year-old pitched five innings, giving up only one earned run and striking out eight Brewers batters.

Next, the Giants face the Brewers in the rubber game of the series on Thursday. 23-year-old Hayden Birdsong takes to the mound for the hosts, who will look to make it two series wins in a row in front of the home support.
