Bo Bichette Trade Rumors: Blue Jays open to moving 2x All-Star shortstop for the right price
Though Bo Bichette is an All-Star shortstop with the Toronto Blue Jays, he could be on the move. Ken Rosenthal of the Athletic recently suggested Toronto could trade its young star, and it was discussed further on The Score.
Toronto has been mired in mediocrity for the last few seasons, and has been unable to land a big free agent. The Blue Jays are desperate to get back into contention in the AL East, and they feel they need to shake up their roster. The Blue Jays recently traded for Andres Gimenez and that gives them some flexibility on their roster.
Trade rumors have been surrounding Bichette for the last 12 months, and the Chicago Cubs continued to be a name that pops up as a landing spot. It's unclear where Bichette might land if the Blue Jays were to move him, but that new team would be getting a great player.
Injuries hurt Bichette during the 2024 season as he was only able to play in 81 games for the Blue Jays. If he were to be traded, the new team would be expecting him to be on the field much more than that.
