Kansas City Royals' 2024 MVP candidate Bobby Witt Jr. is having the best season of his young career so far and is also set to take a huge step in his personal life. The 24-year-old infielder proposed to high school sweetheart Maggie Black over the winter and the couple is expected to get married soon.
Here is a look at their relationship timeline through pictures:
Bobby Witt Jr. and Maggie Black both attended Colleyville Heritage High School together, where they met and started dating. Their first picture together, seen on Maggie's Instagram profile, is the two of them posing during Christmas Eve of 2016.
Following that first picture, they have shared several others from their high school days, including one during Homecoming (2017) and another during their prom (2018).
After they graduated high school, Maggie went on to pursue her B.Sc. in Health and Exercise Science from Northwestern State University of Louisiana, while Witt Jr. was drafted by the Royals.
Nonetheless, Maggie remained a big part of his life. She was present for his MLB Draft and had a constant presence in his life during his minor league days. They reunited after their long distance relationship in May 2022 and have since been together.
Witt Jr. proposed to Maggie ahead of Christmas Eve last year and by the first week of January 2024, the couple were engaged. Since then, the couple has made several public appearances together, including the All-Star game and the red carpet event during the same weekend.
