Bryce Harper's heroic postseason earns him high regard from NBA great Patrick Beverley
For the second straight season, Bryce Harper is making a real impact for his team, the Philadelphia Phillies. In fact, Harper has been so good that he has gained words of praise from another big-time Philadelphia athlete.
Across the 12 games that have comprised the Phillies' 2023 postseason, Harper has hit .316/.490/.711 with five home runs and eight RBIs. During the NLDS against the Atlanta Braves, Harper contributed three home runs, five RBIs, and a .462 average as his team bested their bitter divisional foes in four games.
"Bryce Harper - Pat Bev - All of Philly" - Barstool Sports
On a recent installment of his Barstool Sports podcast, Philadelphia 76ers point guard Patrick Beverley called Harper "really inspiring." The high praise from Beverley came after Harper was seen wearing Beverley's jersey ahead of Game seven against the D-Backs.
A native of Chicago, Beverley has had a long and rewarding basketball career. After playing overseas in Ukraine, Greece, and Russia, Beverley made the move to the NBA in 2017. A former member of the NBA All-defensive First team, the 35-year-old inked a deal with the 76ers this past July.
In the clip in which he referenced Harper, Beverley also lauded other members of the Philadelphia Phillies, including Kyle Schwarber and Nick Castellanos. Of the 98 home runs hit in the 2023 MLB postseason, the Phillies have been responsible for 23 of them.

Last season, Bryce Harper carried his team even more singlehandedly. The Conference Series MVP, Harper hit six home runs and 13 RBIs as his Phillies eventually fell to the Houston Astros in the World Series.
Now, with a chance to get there again with a win on Friday, Harper and company will be throwing the kitchen sink.
Bryce Harper is already a part of Philly sports lore
With a chance to book a ticket to their second World Series in as many years, all eyes will be on Harper and his team in Game 7. Despite shellacking the D-Backs in the first two games of the series, the Phillies were unable to put the Snakes away, and thus, here we are for Game 7.
Already an icon in the city of Philadelphia, further heroics from the first baseman in Game 7 are bound to cement Bryce Harper's name in Philadelphia for centuries.
