Bryce Harper's wife Kayla pens a heartfelt message for Phillies slugger on 8th marriage anniversary
Philadelphia Phillies star Bryce Harper has been married to his high school sweetheart, Kayla Harper (née Varner), since 2016. While the 32-year-old prepares for the upcoming season, he and his wife recently celebrated a big milestone.
The couple have now completed eight years of marriage and have been together for 16 years. Kayla took to Instagram to mark the occasion and wrote:
“8 years married + 16 years together and you’re still my favorite human. Happy anniversary, love you forever 💋”
She shared a picture that appears to be from their wedding day. In the photo, the Baseball star is seen wearing a blue suit, while Kayla Harper wore an elegant white wedding gown with intricate lace detailing.
The couple were first engaged in 2014 and were supposed to get married in January 2015, but the wedding did not happen. Rumors of their breakup circulated, but the couple eventually announced their re-engagement in July 2016 and their wedding took place in the same year.
Bryce Harper credits both personal and professional achievements to his wife and their children
Bryce Harper and his wife, Kayla Harper, are parents to three children. Their youngest child, Kamryn Ray Harper was born in April 2024. The couple welcomed their first child, Krew Aron, in 2019, and their second child, Brooklyn Elizabeth, in 2020.
Discussing the role of family in his success, both on and off the field, Bryce Harper said in 2022 (via Los Angeles radio station):
"I have an amazing family, I have an amazing wife, two beautiful kids that keep me very humbled and grounded... When I leave the field, it's all about them."
"My wife takes care of the kids at home. She does a great job at that," Harper said. "She supports me each night, goes to every single game she can, I'm just very humbled to have a wife and a family like that."
Harper is a first baseman and outfielder for the Phillies and is coming off a solid season with the Philadelphia Phillies. The two-time MVP recorded a .285 batting average, hit 30 home runs, drove in 87 RBIs, and posted a .898 OPS, last season.
