Jackson Holliday and Evan Carter's journey in MLB
Evan Carter was selected by the Rangers in the second round of 2020 MLB draft and received a $1.25 million signing bonus. He made his big league debut on Sept. 8, 2023, and played an integral part for Texas during the postseason.
He started the 2024 season strong but spent an extensive period on the IL due to lower-back tightness, which eventually resulted in Evan Carter getting sidelined for the remainder of the 2024 season.
Jackson Holliday was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2022 MLB draft. The Orioles gave him a $8.19 million signinig bonus, making it a historic deal for a ballplayer straight out of high school.
He made his MLB debut in April but fell short of impressing the front office after lacklustre performances at the plate. Eventually, he was optioned back to the minors after just 10 games in the majors.
Jackson Holliday was resilient, as he bounced back with some amazing at-bats with the Norfolk Tides and was promoted again to the big leagues on July 31. He completed the 2024 season as a rotational player on the Orioles roster.
