Clayton Kershaw gives major career update as he goes through crucial surgeries ahead of 2025 season: "Planning to crush rehab"

Clayton Kershaw’s legacy in Los Angeles keeps growing as the future Hall of Famer added a second World Series title to his resume. Though the 36-year-old pitcher couldn't contribute to the championship run due to injuries, Kershaw has expressed his intent to return next season.

As part of his plans to return, Kershaw underwent a pair of procedures to help address his ailments. The Los Angeles Dodgers legend had been battling a bone spur in his left big toe but also explained that more issues needed to be addressed. Kershaw's procedures also helped with a ruptured plantar plate in his foot, as well as a meniscus tear in his left knee.

On Thursday, the Dodgers icon thanked the doctors and provided an optimistic outlook to fans on social media.

"Had surgery on my foot and knee! Thank you Dr. ElAttrache and Dr. Jung for fixing them! Planning to crush some rehab and be good as can be come next year," Kershaw wrote.

Neal ElAttrache is one of the most renowned surgeons that athletes turn to. Shohei Ohtani and New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers have been patients of ElAttrache.

"Thanks for all the prayers and support! World Series champs!" Kershaw added.

Clayton Kershaw said he plans on ending his career with the Los Angeles Dodgers

Although Kershaw will be recovering for most of the offseason, Los Angeles Dodgers fans will not have to worry about where he will be playing next year. Kershaw may have opted out of his player option for the 2025 season, but he has reiterated his desire to only pitch for the Dodgers for his entire MLB career.

"I don’t know how much longer I’ve got, but I don’t see myself ever wearing another uniform," Kershaw said on MLB Tonight. "I probably shouldn’t say that. There’s not a lot of leverage with that, but at the same time, I don’t care anymore. I’m a Dodger, and that means the world to me.”

Clayton Kershaw is determined to remain with the only MLB club he has ever known.
