"Cramping, not any level of concern" - Dave Roberts not concerned about Tyler Glasnow's injury amidst star's early exit from game against Blue Jays

The Los Angeles Dodgers recorded another victory in their 2024 campaign on Saturday. At Rogers Centre, the Dodgers prevailed 4-2 over the Toronto Blue Jays.

Starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow had a good game pitching six strong innings and getting his first career win against the Blue Jays. However, the seventh inning caught the Dodgers off guard when they had to remove Glasnow due to cramping in his right hand.

The 30-year-old left just after Davis Schneider hit a double, bringing in a run for the Blue Jays. When asked about Glasnow’s injury, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts remarked in a post-game interview with SportsNet LA:

“Cramping, not any level of concern. You know, just where the pitch count was that you don’t want it to kind of bleed into something else. So I went to the pen there, he’ll be fine and he was fantastic. I thought the fastball command was especially to the glove side was very good today.”
“He did a great job of acquiring strike one and then let us mix play. So the curve ball was good, the slider was good.” Roberts added. “And, they just weren’t catching up to the fastball today as he was changing eye levels late and stuff like that. So really good across the board and once again, gave us a lot of length.”

Dave Roberts believes Tyler Glasnow still has a lot more to offer

Tyler Glasnow, who now stands at a 5-1 record, gave up one run and only two hits while walking three batters and striking out nine. When asked if Glasnow lived up to his expectations, the Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said:

“He is, he is you know when you acquire a guy like Tyler you look, as you look at him as a front line guy, who can get the swinging miss, can go deep in games and win baseball games when he pitches. He’s done everything and more and I think you know as each day passes, he’s getting more and more comfortable. I still think there’s more in there, you know and it’s going to be exciting to see.”

Tyler Glasnow is currently leading the major league charts with the most strikeouts (53) and the most innings pitched (43).
