"Cry more";" Such a clown" - MLB fans bash Red Sox podcaster for claiming Yankees has "easiest path" in the postseason
The New York Yankees secured their ALCS berth after clinching ALDS Game 4 against division rivals the Kansas City Royals on Thursday. However, the Yankees' progress is not impressive to some.
MLB podcaster and renowned Boston Red Sox fan Jarred Carrabis shared a debatable post on X after the Yankees eliminated the Royals from the division series in front of their fans at Kauffman Stadium.
"Yankees win. Step one of the easiest path to the World Series for any team ever in the Wild Card era is complete," Carrabis wrote in his post.
Carrabis' comment did not sit well with MLB fans who claimed the Red Sox fan was jealous of the Yankees' postseason progress.
"You’re such a clown."
"So easy that the Red Sox didn’t get an invite," mocked a fan.
Fans reminded the popular Red Sox fan about his team's run through to the World Series triumph in 2007, where they swept the Colorado Rockies to win the ring.
"The 2007 Red Sox had the easiest World Series win in my time alive vs. Colorado," alleged a fan.
"Bro beat the Rockies to win one lol," another fan said.
"Maybe make the playoffs and then you too can go on that path!" Lashed out a fan.
The Red Sox failed to make the postseason after finishing with a 81-81 record, three places behind the Detroit Tigers in the last AL Wild Card spot.
Yankees avoid Royals upset to keep World Series dreams alive
Despite Jarred Carrabis' claim, the Yankees had to sweat it out against the Royals, who qualified for the ALDS after eliminating AL East rivals, the Baltimore Orioles, in the wild card series.
The Bronx Bombers came from behind in the ALDS opener to win Game 1 but were beaten 4-2 in the second game as the series shifted to Kansas for the next two games.
A hostile Royals crowd at Kauffman Stadium made it difficult for the Yankees players, who managed two narrow wins to clinch the series and make it through to the championship series. They continue chasing a first World Series win since 2009.
The Yankees will face the winner of the Detroit Tigers - Cleveland Guardians ALDS Game 5 with the series tied at 2-2.
