Christian Moore commits to strive harder and bring World Series to Anaheim

Christian Moore played a big role in helping the Vols land their first College World Series this year. The infielder is coming off an impressive year, finishing with career highs in batting average (.375), OBP (.451) and slugging percentage (.797). This performance earned him first-team All-American honors from both Baseball America and Perfect Game.

Upon being selected by the Angels, Moore would now like to translate his college baseball performance and win a World Series for LA.

“I'm a winner,” Moore said. “I'm ready to get to work with Angels. And I don't want to promise anything, but I will work every day as hard as I can to bring home a World Series." [via MLB.com].

Angels scouting director Tim McIlvaine scouted Christian Moore for the team.

“Christian's a talented kid, like a lot of the guys in the system, we're going to let him go at his own pace,” McIlvaine said. “We’ll let Christian dictate when he’s ready. We're going to do as much as we can to get him ready for when he does come up to the big leagues. But for now, he's going to take his time.”

In this current season, the Angels are not expected to make the playoffs, but one or a year down the line, they can soon emerge as contenders, with Moore contributing to it.
