"Dancing like that embarrassing uncle";"Fire Dave Roberts immediately" - Fans react hilariously after Dodgers manager's World Series celebrations
Dave Roberts and the Los Angeles Dodgers welcomed rapper Ice Cube to Friday's World Series celebration. It was their first title since the 2020 season, and it was all smiles around the ballpark.
While Ice Cube was performing, Roberts became the rapper's hype man, dancing around and firing the crowd up. It was a hilarious moment to kick off what was a fun day in L.A.
"Dave Roberts dancing like that embarrassing uncle and I absolutely love it" said Blake Harris.
Roberts let loose, and for good reason. His club met the high expectations many set out for them before the 2024 season even kicked off. It was World Series or bust for this club this year.
The fanbase found the moment to be hilarious. They took to social media to share their reaction to seeing their manager acting a fool.
"I've seen it all. Fire Dave Roberts immidiately" said a fan.
"Dave, Never do that again" said another.
"Someone come get Tio" said another.
Some fans felt secondhand embarrassment watching Roberts get down. There are some things you cannot unsee, and this may be one of those moments.
"I love it! He deserves to have fun now" said another.
"Perfect!" said another.
"This is awesome!" said another.
Other fans got a kick out of seeing their manager living carefree. He deserves it after that long and grueling season.
Dave Roberts and the Dodgers are ready to run it back next season
This could not have been a better season for Dave Roberts and the Dodgers. They battled adversity with injuries, but it was not enough to keep them away from a World Series title.
While they were busy celebrating the victory, it is never too early to look into next season. And for L.A. the future is looking bright.
Amongst many sportsbooks, they are the early-season favorites to win the title again next year. They are not losing too many big pieces in free agency over the winter and should be a strong team.
Superstar Shohei Ohtani is expected to return to the sound in 2025, and that would make their rotation much more fearsome. He and Yoshinobu Yamamoto would be exciting at the top of that rotation.
You also cannot forget how much L.A. loves to spend over the winter. They could add another star while trying to secure back-to-back titles.
