"Definitely a strike" - Carlos Rodon's wife Ashley sounds off about umpire's missed calls in heated Dodgers vs. Yankees World Series game
New York Yankees pitcher Carlos Rodon's wife Ashley is pumped up for the World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers and has been sounding off on some bad calls from the umpire.
As the two MLB giants kick off the seven-game series on Fridaay, Gerrit Cole starts on the mound for the Yankees in Game 1 at Dodger Stadium. However, there have been some questionable calls from home plate umpire Carlos Torres in Cole's first four innings, and Ashlet Rodon has called them out on social media.
She posted a screenshot of a pitch called ball with the caption:
"Definitely a strike."
Carlos Rodon started his MLB career with the Chicago White Sox in 2015 and spent seven seasons. He then had a short stint with the San Francisco Giants before moving to the New York Yankees in 2023.
Rodon met his wife Ashley in 2014, and the couple eventually tied the knot in 2018. They are parents to three children: Willow, Bo and Silo.
As her husband prepares for the first World Series of his career, Ashley Rodon is heavily invested in her husband's success and has been following Game 1 closely.
After the first four innings of the game were completed, Ashley tweeted a couple of screenshots of some poor calls made by the umpire. The first one was when a strike was called ball in the second inning, and the same happened in the fourth again.
