Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani rocks casual weekend look in white shorts, flip-flops & a fresh haircut

LA Dodgers two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani has an arguably unmatched vibe. His simplicity came to the fore again as he was spotted shopping in LA on Friday ahead of the game against the Tampa Bay Rays.

MLB posted a photo of Ohtani sporting white shorts, flip-flops and a fresh haircut. He was wearing a black t-shirt and was seen carrying a couple of handbags from his shopping.

He arrived at Dodger Stadium, putting on his uniform ready to create history.

Yesterday was New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge's time to shine. But Friday was Shohei Ohtani's chance to bring the fanfare from the East Coast to the West Coast.

Earlier in the fourth inning on Friday against the Rays, Ohtani stole a base to take his season count to 40.

In the ninth, the Japanese star hit a walk-off grand slam to break the 3-3 tie and win the game 7-4. With Will Smith, Tommy Edman and Max Muncy crowding all three bases, Rays reliever Manuel Rodriguez finds himself in an uncomfortable spot, trying to take down the NL's most fearsome hitter.

His 84-mph slider was crushed to center fielder for Ohtani to register the victory while also making history by becoming the fastest player in MLB to reach 40 home runs and 40 steals in a season. He achieved the feat in 126 games, breaking Alfonso Soriano's record, who took 147 games in 2006 to accomplish the mark.

Moreover, with this, Ohtani also became only the sixth player in MLB history to score 40 home runs and 40 stolen bases in a season. The other players on the list are:

  1. Alfonso Soriano: 147 games (2006)
  2. Jose Canseco: 151 games (1988)
  3. Ronald Acuña Jr.: 152 games (2023)
  4. Alex Rodriguez: 153 games (1998)
  5. Barry Bonds: 158 games (1996)

MLB fans are in for a delight this season, with both Judge and Ohtani setting new benchmarks this season. While Judge is on pace to reach 60 homers this season, Ohtani has over a month to try to get into the exclusive 50-50 club.
