"Don't forget about Mike Trout" - Ian Happ predicts Angels superstar as 2025 AL MVP, following Aaron Judge’s 2024 honor with Bobby Witt Jr. 2nd
Los Angeles Angels slugger Mike Trout has been backed to win the 2025 AL MVP award by Chicago Cubs outfielder Ian Happ. Despite a disappointing season in the MLB this year due to a torn meniscus, the Angels veteran is still respected by teammates and opponents alike as one of the best players in the majors.
Speaking on a recent episode of "The Compound", Happ agreed with this year's AL MVP award winner and runner-up in Aaron Judge and Bobby Witt Jr., and went on to predict next year's winner, saying:
"Don't forget about Mike Trout. 2025 AL MVP."
Mike Trout is a MLB veteran who has already established himself as one of the best sluggers of his generation with three AL MVP awards under his belt already. Having made his major league debut with the LA Angels in 2011, Trout has been a one-team player who still commands a lot of respect in the MLB.
He started the 2024 season in hot form, hitting six home runs in the first eleven games. However, a torn meniscus ended his year and derailed the Angels' season as well.
Happ strongly agreed with the results where Aaron Judge and Bobby Witt Jr. were unanimously named first and second in the voting before predicting Trout will be among the players competing for the award next year, who will look to add a fourth MVP title of his career.
Orioles star Jackson Holliday backs Philadelphia Phillies to land Mike Trout this offseason
In a recent video featuring Baltimore Orioles star Jackson Holliday enjoying some golf in the offseason, the infielder gave his take on Mike Trout's future. According to Holliday:
“I think the Phillies would do anything to get him. I think they would give away their whole farm system ‘cause he’s from Philly, you know.
“I don’t know why he wouldn’t be open to that," he added.
Due to his lack of postseason success with the LA Angels, there is speculation about Trout's future with them every year. Holliday believes that the Philadelphia Phillies would be the perfect fit for Trout and that they should do everything they can to get him ahead of the next season.
Do you think Mike Trout will win a fourth MVP title next season? Will he try to do so as an Angel, a Phillie or for another club entirely? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
