"Donald Trump's America has begun" - Francisco Lindor's wife Katia brings attention to nationwide reports of racist text messages after election day
New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor's wife, Katia Reguero, is quite an influential figure on social media, with over 87,000 followers on Instagram. Often, she uses her influence to notify her followers about important societal issues.
On Friday, Reguero shared a post to her social media story, which raised awareness about racist text messages received by a number of American citizens.
Reportedly, the recipients of the messages were located in a number of different states, which included the likes of California, New York, Texas and Georgia, among others. Some of the recipients were also children, according to various sources.
"Trump's America. It has begun." Katia Reguero captioned her story.
The post shared in the story was originally posted by the popular talk show 'Good Morning America' on their official Instagram page.
The two main contenders for the 2024 election were Donald Trump (Republican Party) and Kamala Harris (Democratic Party). Trump was later projected to have beaten Harris to become the 47th American President and is set to be sworn in on January 20, 2025.
According to Katia Reguero, the aforementioned text messages are a by-product of "Trump's America", with some of the text messages even reportedly signed "a Trump supporter".
Following an uproar from concerned citizens in response to the news, the FBI later responded that they were aware of the issue, and were committed to tracking down any potential culprits, working alongside the Justice Department and other relevant federal authorities, per Mint.
Katia Reguero posts heartfelt tribute message to husband Francisco Lindor following historic season
The New York Mets had a superb 2024 season, as they overcame a slow start to make it as far as the NLCS for the first time since 2015. Francisco Lindor was almost always at the center of the action, showcasing remarkable consistency both offensively and defensively. As Lindor gave it his all game-in-game-out, his wife and daughters were regulars in the stands, cheering the 30-year-old on.
After Lindor and the Mets' season came to an end at the hands of the eventual champion Los Angeles Dodgers, Katia Reguero took to Instagram to post a heartfelt tribute to her husband and his exceptional 2024 season.
In a lengthy caption, Katia Reguero commended qualities such as determination and leadership that Francisco Lindor showcased on numerous occasions throughout the regular season and playoffs.
With the 2024 season now in the rearview mirror, Francisco Lindor will now be looking to spend much of his well-earned time off with his wife and daughters. The focus will shift back to baseball after the new year, with spring training set to begin at some point in early February, as the Mets look to follow up the success of 2024 with more of the same in 2025.
