"Dude is too injury prone" "Unfortunately a scheduled tweet" - Fans throw shots at Tyler Glasnow after Dodgers place All-Star on IL

Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Tyler Glasnow is no stranger to making trips to the IL. The hard-throwing righty has dealt with multiple injuries throughout his career from cramping to back issues.

While he was selected to participate in his first All-Star Game this season, he will have to watch from the sidelines. On Tuesday, Glasnow was placed on the 15-day IL with a back issue, via The Athletic's Fabian Ardaya.

Manager Dave Roberts explained to the media that Glasnow's back tightened up on Sunday. With the All-Star break coming up, this is the perfect time for the hard-throwing righty to miss some time.

However, being somebody who has had their fair share of IL trips in the past, fans took to social media to throw shade at Glasnow. They were expecting him to get hurt at some point this season.

"Dude is too injury prone" - one fan said.
"Unfortunately a scheduled tweet" - said another.
"Unfortunately with Glasnow you know it’s coming at some point every season" - said another.

Glasnow is just the latest Dodgers star to hit the IL. He joins Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Mookie Betts who are both expected to be out well past the All-Star break.

"This guy just can't stay healthy. It's a shame" - said another.
"Well well well I’m so suprised" - said another.
"Who saw that coming" - said another.

With Glasnow now down on the IL, the club recalled Michael Petersen. This comes just under a week after he was optioned down to Triple-A.

Dodgers fans should be concerned with Tyler Glasnow's usage

While a back issue is not typically a huge cause for concern, Dodgers fans should be concerned with Tyler Glasnow's current usage. He has thrown 109 innings this season while holding a career-high of 120.

The organization must pump the brakes and watch Glasnow closely during the second half, but that will be hard. They already have six pitchers, excluding Glasnow, on the injured list.

The Blue Crew has been tied to some potential trades that see them grabbing another starting pitcher. They have already reached out to Chicago White Sox flamethrower Garrett Crochet but were shut down.

With Glasnow heading to the injured list, it will be interesting to see how aggressively they pursue another starting pitcher ahead of the trade deadline.
