"Even Tom Brady is blown away by Shohei Ohtani’s greatness" - Fans react to NFL legend's special message for Dodgers star on 50-50 milestone

Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani is regarded as a generational talent by many MLB fans. The Japanese phenom further strengthened his case for that title after becoming the first MLB player to reach the 50-50 mark on Thursday.

Following his historic night against the Miami Marlins at LoanDepot Park, which saw him go to 51 home runs and 51 stolen bases for the season, NFL icon Tom Brady congratulated the Dodgers slugger with a special message.

The seven-time Super Bowl champion said:

"Congratulations. The first ever to be in the 50-50 club. What an accomplishment. But I know you have bigger goals ahead, so good luck in the postseason."

Fans were abuzz after the New England Patriots legend's words for the MLB superstar.

"Brady might have 7 rings, but even he’s blown away by Ohtani’s greatness."
"It's so cool to see legends like Tom Brady appreciating the talent of others! It just goes to show that even the best of the best can admire greatness in someone else," wrote another fan.
"Brady and Ohtani are both the best in their respective sports. It's rare to see athletes dominate their sports like they do," appreciated a fan.

The reactions from fans continued to pour.

"Good to see when one Goat recognizes the other," chimed in another fan.
"Here to see legends praising future goat," wrote an overjoyed fan.

One fan was overjoyed by Brady's message, which was followed by NBA great LeBron James' congratulatory post for Ohtani.

"Tom Brady,LeBron James and Shohei Ohtani."

The five-time Super Bowl MVP is regarded as one of the greatest football players of all time. He started a new chapter following his retirement in 2023. He signed a broadcasting deal with Fox Sports in 2022 and made his debut as an analyst for the 2024 season in September.

Tom Brady joins other legends in congratulating Shohei Ohtani

Tom Brady might be one of the biggest names to congratulate Shohei Ohtani on his historic feat, but he was not the first. LA Lakers icon LeBron James was one of the first athletes to react to Ohtani's feat on Thursday.

Brady's former rival and defending Super Bowl champion Patrick Mahomes also put out a post for Ohtani.

As Tom Brady mentioned, Ohtani will be playing in the postseason for the first time in his MLB career after the Dodgers sealed their playoff berth following Friday's blowout win. The two-way star, who has not pitched this season, has most likely sealed a third MVP title after his record-breaking first season with the Dodgers.
