Everything we know about Dodgers World Series parade 2024: Date, timing, route planned in Los Angeles & more
The Los Angeles Dodgers won the World Series for the eighth time in their club history after winning Game 5 7-6 at Yankee Stadium. This is their second World Series title in the last five years and it smells like a dynasty is about to be started with their core players like Mookie Betts, Shohei Ohtani, and Yoshinobu Yamamoto signed to long-term contracts.
It's a tradition in North American sports where the city that wins a championship -- the Super Bowl/World Series/NBA title/Stanley Cup -- holds a parade where fans can witness their star players with their trophy. Here's everything to know about this year's parade in LA.
When is the parade announced by the Los Angeles Dodgers?
Shortly after Walker Buehler struck out Alex Verdugo to close out Game 5 and win the World Series, the Dodgers' social media announced the parade would be held on Friday morning, Nov. 1.
Meanwhile, Gabe Santos of ABC 7 reports the victory parade will start at 11 am.
What is the route of the Dodgers World Series parade 2024?
The Dodgers will begin the parade from City Hall, then to 1st Street, and then to Grand Avenue Road before finally turning down 5th Ave.
Due to COVID protocols, the Dodgers couldn't hold one when they won it in 2020. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts assured fans the celebration after winning this World Series will make up for it.
"I think we were all waiting for the moment, when it would be feasible," said Roberts. "They were even talking about doing something with the Lakers, doing it together. It would have been amazing. But it just couldn't be."
Dodgers owner Mark Walter also added about it last Sunday:
"The fans definitely deserve it," said Walter. "We didn't come here to win the championship. We came here to win the World Series."
How to watch, and stream Dodgers World Series parade 2024?
While the official broadcast schedule has yet to be announced, each year MLB Network brings live action to fans to enjoy the World Series victory parade, and the Dodgers' parade this year is unlikely to be much different.
