Fans show their excitement as Mookie Betts announces his YouTube channel: "Common W for Mookie"
Mookie Betts, the Los Angeles Angels' center fielder, announced his own YouTube channel on social media, promising more vlogs and behind the scenes content from his life and fans reacted to the occasion stating their excitement on Twitter.
Betts has been one of the biggest names in the MLB in recent years and is a 6x All-Star. After starting off with the Boston Red Sox, he played there for six years before making the move to Los Angeles to play with the Dodgers. He won the World Series with both teams in 2018 and 2020.
Known for his fan following, Betts is quite a star. He has fans not only from Los Angeles and Boston but throughout the world. His YouTube channel is a collaboration with Viral Nation, a digital creator business that handles creative for talent. This is their second collaboration with a baseball player, also managing Julio Rodriguez's YouTube channel.
Mookie Betts posted a video on his Twitter, where he welcomed everyone to his channel and promised a deep insight into his life. He wrote:
"Everyone! I’m giving a window into my life journey including vlogs and bts footage of my day-to-day, workouts, and events! Come along for the ride! Link in bio"
Fans immediately started pouring in with responses. One fan expressed their excitement by stating it was a big "W" for the Dodgers star.
Another fan stated how changed he was from his time at Boston and that he seemed like a movie star currently in LA.
Betts' apparel on the video also took the Twitterati by strom as fans showed how impressed they were by him wearing a Joe Kelly Fight Club tee-shirt and a cap. Joe Kelly, as we know, is his former teammate from Boston and hosts a podcast called "Joe Kelly Fight Club".
Other fans too kept their appreciation coming as they quickly jumped on to YouTube to catch his first video.
Mookie Betts uploads his first video on YouTube
After announcing his YouTube channel, Mookie Betts was quick to upload his first video. He uploaded a short preview clip to his Twitter page, where he can be seen in an indoor practice session trying to hit balls and getting ready for the Spring Training.
Betts made his first apperance of the Spring Training playing against the Padres on Monday night in a close encounter that the Dodgers took 7-6. He was playing in the right fielder position.
