"For most of my life you haven't been married" - Alex Rodriguez's daughter Natasha engages in deep conversations with mother Cynthia Scurtis
New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez and his ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis share two daughters, Natasha and Ella. The couple tied the knot in 2022 but parted ways in 2008 in a messy divorce. However, both have remained steadfast in co-parenting their daughters, who are starting to enter a new phase of their lives, career-wise.
On Wednesday, Natasha and Scurtis engaged in a deep mother-daughter conversation on their podcast. Scurtis seems to be imparting advice to Natasha on multiple subjects, including relationships, career and everyday life.
Starting first with relationship, Natasha, born on Nov. 18, 2004, highlighted how her mother has not been married for most of her life.
"For most of my life, you haven't been married," Natasha said.
The clip then cuts to Cynthia advising her daughter on relationships.
"So if you wait around for the person that's perfect, you're never going to be happy. What does that mean about you? How did that define you? What does that say? How does that speak to you? And those are the questions and the feelings you need to dive into," Scurtis said.
Scurtis further added that she wanted her daughter to "gravitate" towards music.
After receiving her high school diploma from Ranson Everglades School in 2023, Natasha joined the University of Michigan in May 2023 to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a special focus on Musical Theatre.
Alex Rodriguez praises Cynthia Scurtis for doing "incredible job" as mom
Both Alex Rodriguez and Cynthia Scurtis may have parted ways on a reportedly bitter note. However, with them being co-parents, their friendship has evolved over the years. The former Yankees star even credited Scurtis for doing an "incredible job" as mom to Natasha and Ella.
“We all need Cynthia. … That’s one of the things I’m probably most proud of in my entire life. Forget the home runs [and] the championship, Like to be able to coparent [with her] and Cynthia being my best friend,” Rodriguez told Us Weekly on Aug. 4. “She does such a beautiful job of mothering.”
“It’s pretty awesome,” Rodriguez added. “I think we always put the kids first and as we both get older, our gratitude grows tremendously.”
On the personal front, both celebrities have moved on with their personal lives. While Rodriguez is currently dating fitness entrepreneur Jaclyn Cordeiro, Cynthia Scurtis is now married to Miami-based realtor Angel Nicolas, with whom she shares a daughter named Camilla.
