Freddie Freeman's wife Chelsea documents sweet moment of son Charlie adopting a new pet, shares anecdote of WS MVP waking up to son's FaceTime request
Freddie Freeman's wife, Chelsea, shared a fun anecdote of their eldest son, Charlie, calling his father to seek permission to adopt a cat the morning after Freeman won the World Series with the Dodgers. As per her social media post, the kitten is named Champ.
Chelsea, along with her three sons, went to the adoption drive to bring the little feline back home. Take a look at the post here, which was captioned as:
"Meet “Champ” … because why not adopt a kitten 3 days after the World Series 🤭. Freddie took a nap and woke up to a FaceTime from Charlie asking if he could get a cat 😁"
Freddie Freeman clinched the second World Series title of his career in October this year and even took the honors of the Finals MVP. He tied the record with 12 RBIs and four home runs against the Yankees in five games as the Dodgers claimed the eighth Fall Classic title in their history.
Almost 2 million Dodgers fans thronged the streets of Los Angeles to celebrate with the team during the victory parade. Freeman, alongside Chelsea and their three kids Charlie, Maximus, and Brandon, soaked up the ecstatic moment together as the city broke into a state of frenzy.
El Modena high school celebrated alum Freddie Freeman's World Series triumph
The win was all the more special for Freddie Freeman since he hails from Orange County, in Southern California, which is just an hour's drive away from LA. It was here where the slugger played his high school baseball at El Modena before the Atlanta Braves came calling and picked him in the second round of the 2007 MLB draft.
After making his big league debut with the Braves in 2010, he won his maiden World Series in 2021 and earned five All-Star nods before his contract expired after the 2021 season, and he signed a six-year contract for $162 million with the LA Dodgers.
Despite writing his name in the history book of baseball, Freddie Freeman and his wife Chelsea are deeply rooted in their values, a characteristic that they are teaching their kids as well.
