Freddie Freeman's wife Chelsea reacts to husband's game-changing grand slam in Dodgers' dramatic victory over Red Sox

The Los Angeles Dodgers made a winning start to the second half of the season thanks to Freddie Freeman. The All-Star first baseman came in clutch in a come-from-behind in the series opener against the Boston Red Sox on Friday.

As the Dodgers stared down a defeat following the All-Star break, Freeman stepped up his game. Trailing 1-0 in the eighth after 2024 All-Star MVP Jarren Duran's solo home run, Freeman hit a go-ahead grand slam to turn the game on its head, sending the crowd at Dodger Stadium into a frenzy.

Freeman's wife, Chelsea, celebrated the eight-time All-Star's heroics by putting up a story on Instagram. She shared a clip of the Dodgers star's clutch go-ahead hit with the caption:

"Grand Slam!!!"

Chelsea shared another clip with a subtle dig at the Red Sox for walking Will Smith to load up the bases for Freeman.

"Sox: walk Will to get to Freddie," captioned Chelsea.

Charlie, the eldest son, was born in 2016, while Brandon John and Maximus Turner joined the family in 2020 and 2021. Chelsea frequently shares Charlie's adorable moments with his father via her Instagram handle.

Freddie Freeman gives his thoughts after clutch performance in Red Sox win

Freddie Freeman's second grand slam of the season ensured that the Dodgers made a winning start to the second half of the season after losing six of their seven games heading into the All-Star break.

Freeman remained humbled in his post-game interview while discussing the Red Sox's decision to walk Dodgers catcher Will Smith in the eighth inning leading up to the go-ahead hit.

“It was the opportunity to drive in runs, that’s all I care about,” Freddie Freeman said. “You can walk walk all the people you want. It’s part of the game. It’s strategy. Sinkerballer, throw a sinker in and I can roll it over for a double play. It’s the right move. Sometimes, it doesn’t work.”

The LA Dodgers will take on the visitors in the second game on Saturday with hopes of clinching the series and reaffirming their status as one of the top teams in the division following a brief stutter.
