Garret Crochet makes feelings known after White Sox trades All-Star pitcher to Red Sox

Garret Crochet's strong performance in the first half of 2024 with MLB's worst team, the Chicago White Sox, made him a potential trade candidate in July. However, the trade could not materialize at the time. Despite this, Crochet continued to post stellar numbers, finishing the season with a 6-12 record, a 3.58 ERA and 209 strikeouts.

On Wednesday, the Chicago White Sox, who lost a record 121 games in 2024, traded Crochet to the Boston Red Sox in exchange for highly rated catching prospect Kyle Teel, outfielder Braden Montgomery, infielder Chase Meidroth and right-hander Wikelman Gonzalez.

On Thursday, Crochet posted on Instagram, sharing his feelings about his time with the White Sox.

"Thank you to the White Sox organization for giving me a chance. I wore the uniform with pride and I’m grateful for the teammates and coaches I shared the field with. Excited for the new opportunity that lies ahead," Crochet wrote in the caption.

Boston Red Sox's potential started pitching rotation ft. Garret Crochet

The deal for Garret Crochet had been in the works. The Red Sox, who missed out on landing Juan Soto and Max Fried, needed to upgrade their rotation as they aim to make the team competitive for the 2025 season. With Crochet's arrival, the Red Sox have strengthened their rotation.

The projected 2025 Boston Red Sox starting rotation includes Crochet as the No. 1 starter, followed by Tanner Houck, Brayan Bello, Kutter Crawford and Lucas Giolito.

The bullpen is anchored by closer Liam Hendriks, with Aroldis Chapman and Justin Slaten serving as setup men. Additional relievers include Greg Weissert, Brennan Bernardino, Michael Fulmer, Justin Wilson and Garrett Whitlock.

The Red Sox's next priority is acquiring an All-Star caliber outfielder and infielder. A potential reunion between Alex Cora and Alex Bregman remains a possibility.
