Garrett Crochet Trade Rumors: Yankees "not that into" White Sox ace amid rising interest from other sides, per insider
The New York Yankees are no longer reported to be interested in signing Chicago White Sox ace Garrett Crochet before the trade deadline. They were considered one of the top teams that wanted to acquire his services, but now things seem to have changed.
According to MLB insider Jon Heyman, the Yanks are 'not that into' the player compared to their other competitors. As per his reports, the LA Dodgers, San Diego Padres and Baltimore Orioles are all interested in signing the southpaw.
The White Sox are 27-71, sitting at the bottom of the AL Central and are almost certain to miss the postseason. If a good offer can be placed on the table, a deal for the 25-year-old pitcher can certainly be on the cards.
According to another insider, Bob Nightingale, the White Sox insisted on including Yankees OF prospect Spencer Jones in any deal for Crochet. However, the arrangement was not met because the Bronx Bombers thought it was too much.
Crochet has been exceptional during the first half of this season. He mesmerized everyone this season with a 6-6 record with a 3.02 ERA, a 0.95 WHIP, and a major league-leading 150 strikeouts, which led to his first career All-Star selection.
Although the Yanks are no longer a potential landing spot, other teams in the list of interested parties would surely do what it takes to acquire their target and strengthen themselves for the second half of the MLB regular season.

The White Sox ace acknowledged the rumors concerning his trade and said that he wants to change the script wherever he goes.
"Everybody's probably got it somewhere in their story that there were doubters at some point along the way and they had to prove them wrong. Hopefully I can change the script," Crochet told MLB Network Radio on SiriusXM
Although his team had one of the worst records in MLB, the 25-year-old has given some of the best pitching performances in the league. Many people are anticipating the White Sox to cash in on Crochet this trade deadline for a few top prospects.
