Gerrit Cole's wife Amy reacts to brother Brandon Crawford's MLB retirement, shares nostalgic memories from 2x WS champion's career

San Francisco Giants great Brandon Crawford announced his MLB retirement on Wednesday. The 37-year-old played his entire career in the Bay area, barring his one season with the St. Louis Cardinals last year.

Crawford, a California native, grew up supporting the Giants and realized his childhood dream after he was drafted by San Francisco in 2008 after playing college baseball for UCLA.

"Baseball has given me, Jalynne, and the kids more than we ever thought possible, and for that we are so thankful," he said in a heartfelt message. "I wouldn't have been able to have the career I did without their love and support every step of the way.
"I also want to thank my parents, siblings, in-laws, coaches, teammates, fans, and everyone else who guided, helped, and rooted for me throughout my career. Now it's time for the next chapter, and I can't wait for the new opportunities and different experiences that it will create."

Following the announcement, Crawford's sister Amy, who is married to New York Yankees ace Gerrit Cole, shared nostalgic memories of her brother's rookie year. Amy reshared a video in her Instagram story, originally posted by the San Francisco Giants as a tribute to the two-time World Series winner.

In the video from 2010, Crawford admitted it to be a "dream come true" moment to be part of his childhood dream.
