"Getting me through today" - Jackson Holliday's wife Chloe reveals the one key support that keeps her motivated
Since returning to MLB on July 31, Jackson Holliday is hitting .333 with a pair of home runs and seven RBIs. After failing to crack the O's roster back in April, the former first overall pick appears to be more than comfortable at the big league level now.
Already a season of contrasts for the 20-year-old, Holliday's wife, Chloe, has provided invaluable emotional support for her husband in his quest for MLB glory. However, Chloe recently shared that she has someone in her life to keep her going, too.
In a video posted to her personal Instagram account on Tuesday, Chloe showed off her dog, Coconut. Captioned alongside the adorable video were the words "this vid is getting me through the day."
Born Chloe Cox, she and Jackson Holliday first met while they were both students at Stillwater High School in Oklahoma. After announcing their engagement last year, the pair were married on Jan. 6. Although they have yet to announce a child together, Chloe revealed that they adopted Coconut with an Instagram post last March 16.
The son of former St. Louis Cardinals icon and seven-time All-Star Matt Holliday, baseball has been a part of Jackson's life from a young age. After Jackson hit .685/.749/1.392 with 17 home runs and 79 RBIs in 40 games as a senior, he was selected with the Orioles' first overall pick in the 2022 MLB Draft.
"Jackson Holliday’s first career home run is a grand slam!" - Baseball Quotes
After a strong performance in Triple-A to start off the 2024 season, the Baltimore Orioles called up Jackson Holliday from Norfolk on April 10. However, after going just 3-for-35, Holliday was sent back down. Since his recent promotion on July 31, it appears unlikely that he will be going back to Triple-A this season.
Jackson Holliday's success is spurred on by Chloe
After Jackson went 2-for-4 with a run and his second career home run on Sunday against the Cleveland Guardians, Chloe once again showed her support. In a captioned story on Instagram, the MLB wife wrote:
"I'ma spend the Holliday locked in."
Still only both 20 years of age, Chloe and Jackson have a lot of life lessons still to come. However, if overcoming the adversity of early-season challenges stands as any sort of indication, the pair are indeed lucky to have each other's support.
