Juan Soto has made an exceptional start to life in the Bronx following his arrival at the New York Yankees from the San Diego Padres. The superstar slugger added another feather in his cap during the team's second game of their series against the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday.
The Yankees' offense failed to fire in an embarrassing 12-2 defeat at the hands of the worst team in MLB this season in the series opener on Monday. However, Juan Soto took matters into his own hands in the second game.
While the former World Series winner has struck clutch home runs in his storied career so far, Soto went deep thrice in a game for the first time in his career on Tuesday.
His red-hot at-bats helped the Yankees take a comfortable lead in the game as fans reacted to Soto's milestone.
"He reallly said we not losing to these bums again."
"HE IS THE GENERATIONAL JUAN. SOTO. ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED," one fan proclaimed.
"What happens if Soto ends up passing Judge in HRs by the end of this season?" a fan quizzed.
Several Yankees fans urged the front office to re-sign Soto when he hits free agency at the end of the season.
"If we sign Holmes and don’t give this man a blank check. We all need to go to Cashman's front door step," wrote a Yankees fan.
"Alright Cashman dish out the cheque," urged another fan.
"Yankee for life please," pleaded a fan.
Yankees ride on Juan Soto's exploits to bounce back against the White Sox
The Bronx Bombers were shell-shocked in their series opener in Chicago after the White Sox registered their first win since Pedro Grifol's firing last week. While the Yankees' pitching staff came under scrutiny for conceding 18 hits in the game, the offense let runners stranded in scoring positions on multiple occasions.
However, there was no stopping Juan Soto on Tuesday. His two-run homer off Jonathan Cannon in their inning surged the Yankees into the lead. Soto took Cannon deep for a second time in the fifth inning and his third homer of the game came off reliever Fraser Ellart in the seventh inning.
Nestor Cortes Jr. supported Juan Soto from the mound, going seven innings deep without allowing a run on three hits and fanning nine hitters. The Yankees won 4-1 on Tuesday and will go for the series win by clinching the final game on Wednesday.
