"He's a nightmare" - MLB analyst propels Aaron Judge as the "best hitter" with special mention of Shohei Ohtani

MLB fans were in for a delight last week, with both Shohei Ohtani and Aaron Judge stamping their authority at the plate. While the New York Yankees and the LA Dodgers are bearing the fruits of it, it's almost like every day the duo gives reasons to marvel on what they provide at the plate.

MLB analyst Dan Plesac was in appraisal of the duo, with Judge getting the acclaim of being the " best hitter" in baseball. The MLB Network crew were discussing Judge's home run spray chart this season, elucidating remarks from the three-time All-Star pitcher.

"Look at where he hits his homers—everywhere. He hits velocity, he takes the ball away, and particularly at Yankee Stadium, he has power to all fields. I get it, and I know we're in this Ohtani thing. He's a marvelous player, the unicorn, all the things you want to say. But the best hitter in baseball right now is Aaron Judge," Plesac said.
"And that's not taking anything away from Ohtani, that's not taking anything away from anybody else. He is by far the best hitter in baseball."

Plesac, who is a former All-Star pitcher, gave his analysis on why Aaron Judge is the best hitter in baseball right now.

"If I'm a pitcher, I want to see, hey, where can I go to get this guy? Can I go up, down? Can I go hard, soft? Can I throttle him? What do I want to do?
"He's a nightmare. He hits velo; he hits spin; he hits spin from righties, and the thing that he's done in the last year and a half that has made him that much better is he's cut his chase down," Plesac added.

Plesac attributed Aaron Judge's declining strikeout rate as one of the reasons why he's best at the plate.

Aaron Judge is Dan Plesac's No. 1 pick if the game is on the line

Continuing his conversation, Dan Plesac revealed his hitter if a game is on the line.

"If you were to ask me right now, okay, game of the line, who do you not want to face in MLB right now? His name is like number one, and I couldn't even take me a minute to think of the next one," Plesac said.

Both Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani are having seasons worth remembering. While both are chasing different milestones, their team-first mentality remains.

"Obviously, the record is part of the process, but I think the most important thing is winning the game.
"My number one goal is to get to the postseason and win the World Series, and whatever the outcome is for my record, that's just part of the process," Ohtani told Watson after entering the exclusive club of 40-40.

Even Aaron Judge had the same notion when he was asked about chasing the milestone of 60+ home runs in a season.

"If it comes with a ring and a lot of fun in the playoffs, then definitely that’d be cool,” Judge said.
"I’m just trying to do whatever I can each day to put ourselves in good position to win a ballgame, especially these games against Cleveland, who we’ll definitely see down the road."

It'd be a delight to witness the AL and NL MVP frontrunners play in the World Series. Do you think that could happen - a Yankees vs. Dodgers World Series?
