"Holding my breath until he actually comes back" - Yankees fans worried as Aaron Judge is considered day-to-day after leaving Tuesday's game early

New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge left Tuesday's matchup against the Baltimore Orioles early. The five-time All-Star was hit in the left hand by a 94.1-mph fastball and stayed in the game until being taken out in the fourth inning.

While testing came back negative, Judge will not be in the lineup on Wednesday. Per manager Aaron Boone, the superstar slugger is considered day-to-day.

The last thing Judge wants to do is deal with an injury. he has been on fire lately, leading all hitters in home runs (260), runs batted in (64), and OPS (1.110).

Bronx Bombers fans also do not want to see their captain dealing with any setbacks. The Yanks are the best team in baseball, largely thanks to the production of Judge.

"I'm going to be holding my breath until he actually comes back" - one fan posted.
"Here we go" - posted another.
"Booo" - posted another.

Yanks fans were used to not having Judge in the lineup last season and it did not go well. They hope he can return immediately because they need him in the lineup to hold off the Orioles.

"Day before Cole gets back. Can't make it up" - said another fan.
"Understandable but PLEASE don’t be like last year" - said another.
"Time to teach the Orioles a lesson" - said another.

While Judge will not be in the lineup on Wednesday, he could return on Thursday. The slugger had already told his manager that he wanted to play on Wednesday, but Boone did not want to risk further injury.

Typically, when a batter is hit in the hand with a 90+-mph fastball, it does not end well. There are a ton of tiny bones in the hand that can easily be broken, heavily limiting what a slugger can do at the plate.

When Aaron Judge was originally hit, Yankees fans were expecting the worst. However, he was extremely lucky as X-rays came back negative.

If Judge were to miss significant time, it would greatly hurt the club. He missed 56 games last season after tearing a ligament in his big toe against the Los Angeles Dodgers, causing the team to miss the postseason.

With Judge's competitiveness, do not expect him to be out of the lineup for long.
